RHPNS Appears Before HRM Budget Committee
On Wednesday, November 10, RHPNS Director Ursula Eckoldt and Executive Director Kevin Russell addressed the HRM Budget Committee regarding the proposed 10.9% property tax increase.
As with previous budget discussions, there was limited indication from the majority of Councillors that meaningful spending reductions or staffing adjustments would be pursued to materially reduce the proposed increase.

If you have not yet taken action, we encourage you to send your concerns — and outline the direct impact on your household or business — to the Mayor and Councillors through the Stop the Property Tax Hike campaign. Please share the link with family members, friends, business owners, and rental housing providers in your network.
Without clear public opposition, Council may interpret the absence of feedback as acceptance of a projected 40% cumulative property tax increase over the next five years.
