The government’s Bill to extend rent control for another two years has passed its second reading in the legislature.
Bill No. 262 – Interim Residential Rental Increase Cap Act (amended) will now move to the Law Amendments Committee, where IPOANS will present our case against this harmful legislation. We believe that rent control and fixed-term lease restrictions will discourage investment, reduce supply, and lower rental housing quality in Nova Scotia.
