Housing Announcements
- Work with Nova Scotia Credit Unions to expand Small Business Loan Guarantee for first-time homebuyers purchasing a home up to $500,000 in value will pay a 2% down payment down from 5%.
Affordability Announcements
- Cut the harmonized sales tax by one percentage point, to 14 per cent, also beginning the first of April.
- Remove the tolls on the two bridges that span Halifax harbour starting April 1.
- Increase the basic personal exemption on the Nova Scotia income tax to $11,744 from $8,744.
- Increase minimum wage in 2025 to $16.50 per hour from $15.20 per hour
