HRM Fire Safety Maintenance Inspection (FSMI) Program
The Fire Safety Maintenance Inspection (FSMI) Program is carried out by firefighters and designed to educate property owners and managers on fire safety while also checking for compliance with the fire code. The program includes large (4+ storey, Multi-Unit) residential properties, as well as bars and restaurants, places of worship, and daycares. During a scheduled inspection visit, firefighters check critical fire prevention measures, such as exits, detection systems, and alarm systems.
