Neighbours oppose seniors living, nursing home project in Fall River

Many Fall River neighbours say a seniors housing and nursing home project is too big for their community.

The project planned on Fall River Road involves four, four-storey buildings with 456 rental units for people who are at least 55 years old, and a 144-bed nursing home facility, which will be run by Northwood.

At a special meeting of the North West Community Council (NWCC) on Monday night, several residents raised their concerns to an appeal of the site plan for the project and about 38 residents wrote letters and emails. City staff and the developer on the project also gave presentations.

Jaccob Bing wrote that he doesn’t agree with the size and scale of this development and the environmental impact.

“The said development is far too big for the community and will take away from what makes Fall River, Fall River, a semi-remote community with the highest objects being trees,” he wrote in an email as part of the appeal. …[Read More]
