If you’ve applied for a building or development permit from Halifax Regional Municipality, you know it’s a waiting game.
In fact, as Kelly Denty, director of planning and development, was putting forward an ask to increase her department’s budget to bring on more staff to speed things up, Coun. Cathy Deagle Gammon was receiving a call on that very topic.
A man in her district had been waiting for almost three weeks for permits on a garage in a backyard.
