RHPNS brings rent-control concerns to Acadia economics conference
RHPNS Executive Director Kevin Russell participated in a panel discussion at the Atlantic Canada Economics Association Conference at Acadia University.
His opening remarks examined the unintended consequences of Nova Scotia’s temporary rent cap, now in its sixth year. Kevin outlined RHPNS’s concerns about the widening gap between existing and asking rents, financial pressures on small housing providers, and the effects on investment and rental choices for people searching for a home.
