Mount Hope Village Adds 57 Homes in Dartmouth
Phase 3 of YWCA Halifax’s Mount Hope Village is complete, adding 57 townhouse units, including 40 affordable homes for families led by women and gender-diverse people. Affordable rents range from $1,075 per month for a two-bedroom unit to between $1,250 and $1,445 for a three-bedroom unit. Market-rate three-bedroom units rent for $2,250.
The $23.68-million phase received $17 million from CMHC, $5.28 million from the Province and $1.4 million from Halifax Regional Municipality. Following the earlier completion of Phase 2, Mount Hope Village now contains 123 homes and offers residents access to housing, healthcare, employment and other supports.
